COVID-19 RULES

In light of the potential effects of COVID-19, as a private netball club we have implemented the following rules and requirements for the benefit of our club and our members. Please read carefully below.  

We are continually monitoring all city and state guidelines to keep our players and umpires safe, as well as being respectful to the facility that we use at the British School in South Loop. As such, since we are playing at an indoor school gym:

FAQ

​

  • How do I submit my proof of vaccination? 

    • Proof of vaccination must be shown to a CNC board member, your team captain or sent to chicago.netball@gmail.com 

    • Proof of vaccination may be provided either:

      • in person via visual inspection; or 

      • if you feel comfortable you may send (whatsapp, text, email) proof of vaccination to your team captain, a board member or to chicago.netball@gmail.com 

    • Please note if you send a copy of your proof of vaccination to chicago.netball@gmail.com we will verify the information and then delete your data, the club will not be storing any personal vaccination documentation, except a checklist of who has provided the necessary information. 

    • Proof of vaccination may be:

      • Vaccination Card; or

      • Photocopy of vaccination card; or

      • Digital record, picture or app; or

      • Printed record from vaccine provider

  • When must I show proof of vaccination by?

    • Proof of vaccination must be shown on one of the following dates:

      • If you attend Training day on August 20 2022 proof of vaccination must be shown then; 

      • If you do not attend training day proof of vaccination must be shown by August 27 (our first week of games) 

      • You may also provide proof of vaccination prior to the above dates

      • If you provided proof of vaccination last season you do not have to reverify with the club

 

  • What if I am not vaccinated? 

    • Chicago Netball club has made the decision to require its members to be vaccinated, as a private club, for the benefit of the club and its members as a whole. As such all individuals must be fully vaccinated unless they have a valid exemption. 

    • The following individuals are exempted and do NOT need to provide proof of vaccination (as it relates to Chicago Netball Club): 

      • Individuals who have previously received a medical or religious exemption, provided such persons provide the club proof of the medical or religious exemption and a COVID-19 test administered by a medical professional within the last 72 hours prior to attending any CNC games/training day.  

      • A PCR or Rapid test will be accepted 

      • If a valid exemption is provided, then a negative COVID-19 test will be required 72 hours prior to each game. If such test is not provided then you will not be permitted to play.

If you are unwilling to provide either proof of vaccination or a valid exemption and negative COVID-19 test then please do not sign up for the season. 
 

  • What does fully vaccinated mean?

    • People are considered fully vaccinated: 

      • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 

      • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine 

      • If you don’t meet these requirements, regardless of your age, you are NOT fully vaccinated. 

 

  • What if I test positive for COVID-19 or have symptoms during the season?

    • If during or within 5 days of participating in a CNC netball game, you become ill with COVID-19 symptoms, have a confirmed case of COVID-19, or are exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19:

      • you must notify the the club immediately by contacting chicago.netball@gmail.com

      • The club will notify the CNC announcements WhatsApp chat that a possible COVID-19 exposure has occurred (Any notifications will respect the individual’s privacy and maintain confidentiality as much as possible)

    • If you were exposed to COVID-19 and are up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations:

      • You do not need to stay home unless you develop symptoms

      • If you develop symptoms please stay home or ensure you have a negative test 

      • If you were exposed and are not fully vaccinated, stay home for 5 days and get tested.

Compliance with City guidelines

Please be advised in light of the ongoing pandemic CNC must reserve the right to modify its COVID-19 rules or cancel the season at any time for purposes of public safety or compliance with directives from local authorities.  Should this result in any future scheduling changes or cancellations, we will of course notify all participants as soon as possible and work with you on appropriate next step

All players, umpires and any spectators must show proof of vaccination (fully vaccinated) or provide a valid exemption and negative COVID-19 test (see FAQ below) to attend any of our games.
